Our Standard, XL and Dual Tank softeners all include coconut-shell carbon, so you get softening and chlorine reduction in one system.

Carbon does not soften water and does not remove dissolved solids. For drinking water, add reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink.

Common questions
Do I need a softener or just a filter?
If scale on fixtures and your water heater bothers you, you need a softener. If it is mainly chlorine taste and smell, whole-house carbon alone may be enough. Most El Paso homes choose the softener with carbon because it does both.
Does whole-house carbon need electricity or a drain?
No. It uses a pass-through head with no salt, no drain line and no power.
How often is the carbon replaced?
On a multi-year interval, depending on how much water the home uses. We let you know when it is due.
